Jackie's Introduction

I have been in the marketing and advertising space for more than 15 years working with B2B and B2C brands. My interest in sustainability and climate change had me taking various courses on the topic including a recent one, Professional certification in Sustainability for Senior Leaders with  BCG.

I would like to leverage my experience and skills to support other members in their comms and marketing to the various stakeholders to drive the sustainability agenda forward.

What brought you to sustainability?

My journey into sustainability began with a deep-seated curiosity and a growing sense of urgency. As I delved into the subject, I became acutely aware of the pressing need for individual action, especially in places like Singapore, where environmental awareness is burgeoning but still has a long way to go. I began to understand that the environmental challenges we face are not distant problems; they are immediate threats to our way of life. My story is one of gradual realisation and learning, punctuated by moments of revelation that spurred me to become a better advocate. This newfound awareness also sparked a fire in me to learn more and do something meaningful to contribute to the solution.

I began my journey with small, manageable steps. The first thing I did was to educate myself, I learned about the carbon footprint of everyday activities. And gradually introduce different habits and practices into my daily life. As I adopted more sustainable practices, I realised that the key to making a broader impact was to share the knowledge and inspire others to take action.
