Hi everyone, I'm Louis, the Co-founder of Yindii, a mobile application that addresses the issue of food waste in Thailand, Hong Kong and Singapore.
Yindii connects local businesses and supermarkets with high-quality excess food to consumers through an online platform at very affordable prices.
Happy to help other sustainable founders struggling to reach market fit
I've been educated to respect the environment and never waste edible food. When I arrived in Bangkok 5 years ago, the food waste issue shocked me so much that I decided to devote myself and use my experience to solve it.
We have implemented various awareness event with the team and communities like The Climate Fresk, food bank collaboration and food waste composting.
The biggest challenge I faced was to motivate consumers and businesses in South East Asia to tackle food waste. It took me time to realise that the sustainability aspect was really the cherry on the cake to make our food waste reduction initiative work.
The most powerful trigger to make sustainability become a priority over a non-sustainable practice is solving a problem with cheaper or more efficient methods.
Achieving the expansion of our initiative in 3 regions and motivating more than 200,000 people to fight for change.
